Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, a musician's daughter from Mexico, was born to the music-loving parents of her family. She grew up listening to the old and classical boleros as well traditional romantic, ranchero and ballads of romance. Ana likes tangos as much as opera, and various other dramatic types. She began her singing and learning music with her mother, and commenced more serious vocal instruction at the age of 16 with renowned Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. She furthered her training in music in the School of Music of Guadalajara University. She then attended the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. In Guadalajara and Mexico City, she was an opera singer in numerous choruses and chamber ensembles. In 2000, she emigrated in the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2007, she relocated to her present home in Southern California. She has performed solo Latin American music for private celebrations and in the Ensemble XXI in Redlands. Passion and enthusiasm for the arts, music, and performing keeps her involved in numerous local organizations as a teacher and performer. Ana has also been a former member of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana appreciates the opportunity to share her passion and appreciation for traditional Latin American songs with others as she hopes to instill a sense of particularly among the younger generation to keep this music vibrant and alive.Viva Mexico!
