Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri dixit is a well-known Indian actress best recognized for her roles in the films Beta Saajan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Beta Saajan. Her first fame was the role she played in the 1980s film Tezaab where she co-starred along with veteran actor Anil Koopor. Her next appearance on screen was Dil along with Aamir. In Mumbai, she was raised in a family of middle-class parents. At a very young stage, she was able to study dance. Early in her life, as she began to perform as an actress, most films that she made did not succeed. She eventually became one of the biggest actresses of Indian film. Following her wedding, she took a absence from acting until she returned. More recently she played an integral character in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the challenges faced by women in India. Dixit is nominated to win fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she took home eight. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian prize in India, was bestowed upon Dixit. Her reputation also includes as a social activist.
